Restaurants in Looe using Fresh local Cornish produce
Quality Cornish produce and home cooking is a hallmark at Polraen Country House earning us both AA Breakfast and Dinner Awards for good food. The Conservatory Bar & Restaurant continues this tradition. Eat light sharing a pint of king prawns and a glass of wine or Cornish Orchards cider, or make a meal of it with Tracey’s home made dishes such as Steak and Kidney Pie, Chicken Normandie with daily specials of fresh fish from Looe Quay and Cornish reared steak. Our main course dishes change with the seasons while must have’ puddings like home made pavlova remain constant alongside a distinctly Cornish cheeseboard.

Looe to Sandplace on the Looe Valley Line
An evening visit to The Conservatory in its historic setting at Polraen arriving by Looe Valley Line train is a memorable experience. The train skirts the riverbank from Looe to Sandplace, arguably the most picturesque stretch of the entire line. Spot birds and wildlife from the train and see the historic lime kilns on the short stroll from Sandplace Station. An extended evening timetable starts from May 18. Western Greyhound No 573 bus provides an hourly service on the Polperro – Looe-Liskeard-Callington route until early evening.
