The best Cornish Cream Tea near Looe?
Sometimes it’s nice to get away from the beach and the busy fishing port of Looe. Travel inland 2 miles following the route of the East Looe River on the A387, with river views at every turn, and you’ll discover the idyllic setting of Polraen Country House at Sandplace. Lydia bakes all her own cakes and scones – simply delicious. It’s peaceful and relaxing. Listen to the birdsong. Watch the pheasants and buzzards. Soak up the atmosphere.
Located just a 4 minute stroll from Sandplace Station, you can take a lovely trip on the scenic Looe Valley Line skirting the banks of the river along the most scenic stretch of the line from Looe or from Liskeard. Or catch the No 73 Polperro-Liskeard bus which stops right outside the door.
Wheel chair access is through the garden gate entrance with a low gradient to the patio. Dogs on leads are welcome in the bar and in the garden.
