Cornish Food and Drink
We believe sampling Cornish food and drink is part of what makes a holiday in Cornwall so special, which is why we use quality Cornish ingredients. It makes Polraen’s breakfast one that is frequently praised and highly rated in guest reviews. And The Conservatory at Polraen is a wonderful venue to sample Cornish produce visiting our Tea Room or enjoying an evening picnic.
Evening in The Conservatory
New for 2017! When you don’t want to dine out at the many restaurants in and around Looe, just supply your own takeaway/light bites and we’ll make crockery, cutlery and glassware available.
Exclusively for the use of Polraen hotel guests in the evening, we are happy for you to use this lovely room overlooking the garden to ‘dine at home‘. You can pre order one of our picnic platters from The Conservatory earlier in the day. Or bring back some Cornish food and drink purchased on your travels.
This convenient arrangement allows you to mix dining out with eating in which helps your holiday budget stretch further. Buy a drink from Polraen’s fully licensed hotel bar to accompany your meal while you unwind after a day’s sightseeing. The Conservatory overlooks an award-winning garden surrounded by glorious Cornish countryside so it’s the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the spacious facilities of our country house. Better still – leave your plates and we’ll do the washing up!
We’re happy to recommend local shops and delicatessens selling great Cornish produce.
We’re equally happy to share our knowledge of the many great restaurants in and around Looe serving wonderful Cornish produce. In particular, we recommend The Plough Pub & Restaurant in the nearby village of Duloe at which we can make table reservations on your behalf or indeed, at other restaurants in the area. In Looe, our personal favourite is the Old Sail Loft Restaurant although there’s plenty of choice and a variety of cooking styles to choose from.
